Yahoo News Love Island takes SHOCK turn as another couple splits
Yesterday's Love Island ended in a surprise dumping, as Ellie Brown and Charlie Brake lost out in the public vote and had to leave the island immediately.
But in a shocking twist, host Caroline Flack revealed that the drama wasn't over yet – because another couple were placed in immediate danger.
"Georgia and Sam, Megan and Wes, you are not quite safe yet," she said. "Your fate now lies in the hands of your fellow Islanders. Islanders, you now have the power to save one couple. Georgia and Sam. Or Megan and Wes."
Asking the group, "Who do you think has the potential to go the distance? Who do you believe in as a couple?" it was time for the other Islanders to choose which other couple should be dumped.
Some of the group believed Georgia and Sam had more potential, while others were backing Megan and Wes as the stronger pair.
When the time came for the dumping, Josh Denzel stepped forward to reveal the group's decision.
"We would like to save this couple because, they have had their doubters, both inside and outside of the villa and as a group, we believe that they can go the distance," he said.
"It wasn't an easy decision at all, there was serious debate and people put forward very good points, pros and cons for both couples. But in the end we have managed to make a decision even though it was a hard one."
After a very long and dramatic pause, it was Megan and Wes who were saved by the group.
But the twists STILL weren't over, as Caroline had another bombshell – or rather four – to drop.
"You haven't been saved by the public or your fellow Islanders. Therefore, you cannot stay on Love Island as a couple," she said – much to Georgia's fury, who branded the twist "shit".
"This doesn't have to be the end of your Love Island journey. It's a huge decision, it's either split up and remain in the villa or stay together and leave. Before you make that decision, I can tell you there are two new boys and two new girls waiting to enter the villa today.
"If you decide to split up and stay on the Island, you will each date two new Islanders and head back to the villa. You will decide who to couple up with on the next recoupling.
"But you can't be with each other. If you decide to stay as a couple, you will leave immediately without returning to the villa."
It was clearly a tough choice for the pair – but the other Islanders made it quite clear that "if they're real, they will leave".
Sam told Georgia: "We need to be there for each other," while Georgia sobbed that she can't watch Sam in bed with another girl and questioned: "Why does nobody believe in us?"
She then raged to Caroline: "I don't understand why my fellow Islanders don't believe in us." Sam reckoned "a lot of people have underestimated us".
When it came to the crunch, Georgia described herself and Sam as "loyal" (of course) – but they made the shocking decision to split up and stay in the show, meaning that they must now date the new Islanders and are no longer a couple.
