Love Island fans were worried this series wasn't going to be as good as last year's. Luckily, the show has delivered all that and then some thanks to larger-than-life characters like Marcel Somerville, Kem Cetinay and Camilla Thurlow – we love you guys!

But that doesn't mean we've forgotten about all the couples from 2016. They were legendary and we're still huge fans. In fact, here's a quick reminder of what happened after they left the villa and whether they're still together now.

Congratulations are in order for Ms De La Hoyde and Mr Massey as they have a baby on the way! At the moment, they're not technically an item but the pair are still very close. During a recent appearance on This Morning, Cara admitted she wants things to work out between them. "It'd be lovely to have a little family and look back and show our kid where we met," she gushed. Watch this space.

2. Kady and Scott

Kady McDermott and Scott Thomas are still as loved-up as ever and are now living together too. As of yet, she's still waiting for him to put a ring on it, but it looks like wedding bells are in their future as Scott's already calling Kady his wife. No time like the present, Mr Thomas.

3. Olivia and Alex

Alex Bowen popped the question to Olivia Buckland earlier this year and it's now been confirmed when they'll be getting married – October 2018. Caroline Flack is said to be on the guest list and Cara will be bridesmaid. Although it's supposed to be a surprise for the big day, Olivia recently revealed to the world what gown she's planning to wear on TLC's Say Yes to the Dress.

4. Emma and Terry

It lasted for a good, solid eight months. Then Terry Walsh announced he'd split from Emma-Jane Woodhams on Twitter in February. He wrote: "For people asking me or who it concerns me n Em have broken up. We're still friends. One chapter closes another must open." Neither has ever revealed why they split. Sad times.

5. Rykard and Rachel

Remember when Rykard Jenkins quit Love Island when his girlfriend Rachel Fenton was evicted? Well, that decision paid off, didn't it? The couple are still together. They've had some serious ups and downs over the past year but they've both admitted that they are in love. Aww.

6. Sophie and Tom

These two were going strong for a while but broke up in November amid claims they had both cheated on one another. Sophie Gradon is now in a relationship with Ashley Lenco, while Tom Powell is dating his former Love Island co-star Malin Andersson.

7. Adam and Katie

Adam Maxwell and Katie Salmon shocked us all when they made it to the final four in Love Island last year. They didn't win of course, and a few days after leaving the villa, they split. He then insulted her on Twitter, comparing poor Katie to a kebab. She then hit back by likening him to a "pair of socks at Christmas". Love Islanders and metaphors clearly don't mix...

8. Terry and Malin

Well, if you watched the show last year, you'll know what happened with these two. When Malin was evicted, Terry almost went with her. Almost. But then he decided to stay and a better option came along; his now ex-girlfriend Emma. Terry is now single again while Malin is dating former Love Island co-star Tom.

Love Island is on ITV2, every night at 9pm.
