Love Island's Alex Beattie draws in HUGE crowd for Poundland PA - after being trolled ahead of his appearance
Love Island hottie Alex Beattie brought plenty of screaming fans out for his Poundland meet and greet – despite being mercilessly mocked for his booking at the bargain store.
After announcing his appearance earlier this week, Alex was forced to defend himself against ‘materialistic’ internet trolls, which could be why he brought fellow islander Theo Campbell along for moral support.
But he needn’t have worried as fans turned out in their droves, queuing down the road for a chance to have a selfie with the reality star.
Posing for photos with a smile on his face, Alex received a very warm welcome at the store in Wednesbury in the West Midlands on Friday morning.
Despite the initial backlash, Alex and Theo seemed in high spirits as they joked about in store and even had their photograph taken with the Poundland mascot.

When it was announced he’d be visiting a Poundland branch, Alex found himself the victim of cruel trolls.
‘Fail your exams, don’t worry, become a love island celeb and do big appearances at major events,’ one sarcastically quipped.

But Alex was quick to defend his decision to appear at the store, even gaining a retweet from Love Island host Caroline Flack.
Honestly chill out. Meeting people who are excited to see you means all the same to me regardless of the location. Don't be so materialistic
