Chris Hughes reached an emotional peak as he talked about his girlfriend Jesy Nelson today.

The former Love Island star appeared on This Morning alongside Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby to discuss testicular cancer, after his brother was diagnosed earlier this year.

But when he started to talk about his Little Mix star girlfriend and her recent documentary Odd One Out, Chris started to cry.

Discussing how upset she got, Chris went on to say she's a "strong girl" before getting choked up.

Jesy's documentary saw her speak candidly about her struggle with online trolling, and her suicide attempt a few years ago.

"I get so emotional when I talk about her," Chris continued.

When Holly went on to talk about the affect Jesy's show has had, he added: "My teachers have shown it in their schools already.

"The beauty of that documentary is that it doesn't just help people going through that struggle online, it helps the older generation, the parents, to understand social media."

Chris recently revealed that he was hoping to have children with Jesy, after the pair recently moved in together.

Speaking further about his kids comment in the new interview, Chris explained: "I might have been getting carried away there! I wouldn't mind it, and we do speak about that kind of thing, but her career's still flying.

"I don't think you should rush into having children, but enjoy the time together, and do the things that you can't necessarily do when you've got kids together first."

This Morning is on ITV weekdays from 10am.
