Love Island's Dani Dyer opens up about relationship with jailed ex
Love Island star Dani Dyer, and daughter of EastEnders' Danny Dyer, has opened up about her relationship with her ex-boyfriend Sammy Kimmence.
Dyer broke up with Kimmence, who is also the father of her child Santiago, after he was sentenced to prison for three and a half years for defrauding pensioners out of £34,000.
She spoke about the relationship on her podcast Sorted With the Dyers, which she hosts with her dad, and said: "You are never really friends with your ex-boyfriend. It's a little bit different in my situation, like obviously, I will always have a relationship with Santi's dad."

"But it's very different when you have children. You're tied together by blood and you're always going to have a relationship there, which is different, but still there, there's a line."
Dyer also said that she didn't understand why people wanted to stay friends with an ex as it would be better to "move on with your life", adding: "You've split up for a reason and you're never actually moving on. Why would you still necessarily want that connection and still wonder what they're doing? There's obviously still something there and they just don't want to let each other go."
Her dad agreed with her sentiments, saying that remaining friends with a former partner is a "big flag that's red that's waving."

Dyer says she's not friends with any of her other exes as she doesn't "need to have that connection" because when you have a new relationship, there are already "many obstacles, so you don't want to be worrying about an ex-partner."
Though Dyer comes from a famous family, as her dad plays Mick Carter in the long-running BBC soap EastEnders, she herself became famous after winning the 2018 series of ITV's Love Island with her then-boyfriend Jack Fincham. They broke up a few months after leaving the show.
Love Island airs on ITV2 and is available via catch up on ITV Hub and BritBox.
