David Salako signed up to 'Love Island' because he hasn't found "the one" yet.
The 24-year-old money advisor was teased as one of two Bombshell arrivals at the end of Tuesday's (17.01.23) episode and will be seen entering the villa alongside model Zara Deniz Lackenby-Brown but revealed that he can be "very picky" when it comes to dating as he recalled a time he dated a girl he found to be too clingy.
He said: "I’m very picky - I haven’t met the right one yet. The person you’re going to meet is never going to be perfect, but I’ve got my standards, yeah. I met someone through an app, she was messaging me all the time. When I met her, she
said, ‘I’ve been down your social media followers, you follow a lot of girls. Do you know all of these girls? If I was in a relationship with someone I wouldn’t want them following that many girls.’ I said to her, ‘This is a bit too much for me.’"
Meanwhile, David was asked what gives him the "ick" and admitted he doesn't like it when girls drunkenly sing along to classic songs in bars and explained that while he can hold a tune himself, he will never be heard doing so because he lacks "confidence."
He said: "When girls sing-along all messy to songs like ‘Wonderwall’ in the bar [it gives me the ick]. I can sing, but I will never sing! I just haven’t got the confidence to do it! I’m a really good judge of character. I feel like I can read someone. I haven’t got any qualifications for that but..."
'Love Island' airs at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX. The dating reality show can be seen in Ireland on Virgin Media Two and Virgin Media Player.
