Love Island's double reunion: Blazin Squad serenade Marcel with Flip Reverse

It’s the reunion we never knew we needed until Love Island hit our screens in June.

Marcel Somerville was given a shock when his former crew made a surprise appearance during the Love Island reunion show last night and he was left grinning at the heartwarming gesture as they stormed the stage.

Though the rendition of their hit ‘Flip Reverse’ got everyone in the studio up and dancing, it didn’t go unnoticed that only four of the squad were there. Marcel joined them on stage, making it five, but it still left some viewers scratching their heads as to why so few of the rapeprs/singers turned up.

The boys from London were barely teenagers when they got together and were known by their stage names Kenzie, Melo-D, Reepa, Strider, Spike-E, Rocky B (Marcel), Krazy, Wee Midget, Big Dougie, Jamsey, Freek, Hit-LA, Skyver, and … the list goes on.

So when they took to the stage, many fans on Twitter spotted the shortfall.

One wrote: ‘Nah I swear there was at least 27 Blazin Squad members?’

Another said: ‘They’re pushing the boat out, getting 1/4 of Blazin Squad AND the “King of Manchester” on #loveisland.’

But others loved the surprise set, with one writing: ‘Catching up on#loveislandreunion and ahhhhh @BlazinSquad 15yr old me is very very happy.’

Regardless, everyone loved hearing the noughties classic once more. Dare we hope for a chart comeback from Blazin’ Squad?
