Love Island's Joey Essex and Jessy Potts confirm split
Former Love Island stars Joey Essex and Jessy Potts have confirmed they have split.
The pair released statements to The Sun to announce that they have gone their separate ways seven weeks after leaving the Love Island villa.
"Unfortunately, we have decided to call an end to the relationship, but I hope we can continue to be friends," Joey said. "I truly wish Jessy the very best with whatever she does in the future."
In her own statement, Jessy added: "I appreciate the Love Island experience I had with Joey. We tried to make it work, but it wasn’t to be. I’m so grateful to everyone who supported us and look forward to all of the exciting opportunities ahead."

The couple were the last ones dumped before the Love Island finale in July but expressed hopes of continuing to date in the outside world.
Shortly after the exit from the villa, Joey hit back over speculation about the couple's future since he'd been partnered up with several women throughout the season.
"I understand some people might be sceptical considering how my earlier connections in the villa ended up but ultimately the show is about finding a true connection and the best connection possible, and that's what I did," Joey said in July.
He went on: "Jessy totally took me by surprise, and I fancied her straight away. I could tell we had an instant connection and she was a bit of me.
"We had something that was quite strong and hopefully proved that to people by sticking with each other throughout Casa [Amor] and right up to the end."
Joey and Jessy aren't the only Love Island couple to have broken up since the show ended over the summer. Reuben Collins confirmed in August that he'd ended his relationship with Grace Jackson.
"I don't have a bad word to say about the woman. We've been talking since. We still talk and stuff. We're still friends," he said on FUBAR Radio's Access All Areas podcast.
"She is shining right now. She is killing it. Everything I have said before, I stand by it. 100%."
It hasn't been all bad news for relationships in the Love Island universe, as former cast member Adam Collard got engaged to Laura Woods this week. Plus, Amy Hart recently tied the knot with her partner Sam Rason.
Love Island airs on ITV2 and streams on ITVX.
