Love Island's Malin Andersson announces death of baby daughter

Malin Andersson has shared the tragic news that her baby daughter has passed away.

The Love Island star gave birth to a little girl on December 23, seven weeks early. Due to complications, the little one was being treated at Great Ormond Street Hospital.

Sharing a picture of her baby with a tube on her nose, she revealed the devastating news in an Instagram statement.

"Completely in love with you.. and my Mum just wanted you to be with her," she wrote.

"Your time wasn't ready yet. Mummy loves you. I stayed with you each day.. you opened your eyes one last time for me and I saw those beautiful big brown eyes.

"I'm so sorry I couldn't do anymore. Go be with grandma Consy. My angel. Rest in peace CONSY GLORIA EMMA ANDERSSON-KEMP 23/12/18-22/01/19."

Malin named her and partner Tom Kemp's daughter after her mother Consy who died in 2017 following a battle with cancer.

Her mother had been diagnosed with breast cancer twice before, with it spreading to her bowels when it returned a third time.

Tragically, Malin has also lost her father to skin cancer.

Malin announced her baby girl's early arrival by writing: "Happy New Year..Tom and I are so happy to let you all know that our baby girl CONSY arrived in this world 23rd December 2018, seven weeks early.

"She is so beautiful, we are totally in love with her and feel so blessed that she is here but unfortunately due to complications, she is currently being cared for at Great Ormond Street."
