Love Island star Megan Barton Hanson has opened up about dating women in the past and reveals that she's open to doing so again in the future following her split from Wes Nelson.

Speaking to New magazine, Megan was asked if she was attracted to girls.

"I feel like I might be," she replied. "After this broken heart I feel like, yeah. I've dated girls in the past. It's not like I wouldn't do it."

Megan also shared that she thinks women can feel uncomfortable discussing bisexuality, especially if they're famous or in the public eye.

"I think more people who have this platform need to speak out to younger girls honestly, saying things like, 'I’ve had a few sex partners, I've always practised safe sex. I appreciate women and men'.

"The more we're all open about it, then the less taboo it becomes."

Megan confirmed that she'd split from Dancing on Ice's Wes back in January and has been open about her struggles in dealing with the break up in the weeks since.

Last week, Megan tearfully reflected on the split via her Instagram story, telling fans: "It's been a really tough few weeks, and I've been filming for like two days solid, so my mind's been constantly busy.

"And, now I've come back to this new flat I've moved into alone, and it's just sad to come back to complete silence, and I dunno."

The reality star said she wanted to share her feelings to let her followers know that it's "not all happiness and 100% positivity all of the time".

Meanwhile, Wes opened up about the break-up on This Morning last week, saying his busy Dancing on Ice schedule played a part in the split.
