Love Island star Scott van-der-Sluis has been dumped from the US villa, finishing in 6th place for the second time this year.

The professional footballer joined Love Island USA as a bombshell earlier this month, entering just weeks after his appearance in the UK version of the show.

After a couple of weeks in the sun, Scott will now be returning to the UK once more after being eliminated alongside Johnnie Garcia just before the final.

"My time in the villa was short, sweet, but worthwhile. I'm excited to see how the connection with this one goes. I like being around her," he said following his exit (via The Mirror).

During his time on the UK show, Scott formed a close bond with Catherine Agbaje, before Casa Amor drove a wedge between the pair, with Catherine opting to re-couple.

Following the conclusion of the series, Scott teased that they could rekindle their relationship, saying: "Never say never. Obviously we care for each other and we're really good friends."

The Welshman also reflected on his time in the villa, which saw him labelled as a "game player".

"At the time, I was annoyed about it, because I don't mind people having opinions – I just hate people having opinions and speaking behind your back about it," he said.

"So that's why I brought everyone around the fire pit, because, I said, 'If you've got anything to say, say it now', but obviously, a lot of people then didn't say anything."

"It was always going be tough with when there's that many opinions involved and obviously, in the end, because as Catherine has said, people got into her head before Casa Amor and she ended up going her own way with Elom," he added.

Love Island airs on ITV2 and streams on ITVX.
