Love Island's two Welsh contestants favourites to win before 2024 series even starts

With the brand new series of Love Island kicking off on ITV2, the bookmakers have been rolling out the odds on who will end up being the winners of the 11th series. Starting at 9pm on Monday, June 3, a new batch of sexy singles are arriving in paradise to play the ultimate game of love.

Among them are Aberdare's Nicole Samuel and Pencoed's Ciaran Davies. Just a few hours before the show, fronted by Maya Jama, kicks off, Nicole was named joint favourite to be the top female contestant this year, according to William Hill.

The odds on accounts manager Nicole, 24, winning have shortened from 4/1 last week to 7/2 after she sparked a big online reaction among fans of the programme, bringing her into joint market leader position alongside Samantha Kenny, who was the early favourite after the 2024 line up was announced.

Meanwhile, surveyor Ciaran, 21, the original frontrunner to win the top male title this year, remains unchallenged and maintains his position at the top of the market with odds of 7/2, though there has been support for rival Ayo Odukoya, whose odds have shortened from 5/1 to 9/2.

Spokesperson for William Hill, Lee Phelps, said: “Now that this year’s Love Island contestants have been out in the open for a week, the public have had a chance to get to know them a bit and react accordingly.

“Nicole Samuel caused quite a stir on social media with her striking personality, so it’s no surprise that many fans have given her support in the betting to the extent where she now shares odds with our original favourite, Samantha Kenny.

“With both the Top Female and Top Male markets being led by Welsh contestants, we’re intrigued to see if this remains a theme throughout this year’s show.”
