Dancing on Ice's Wes Nelson has responded to rumours that his split with Megan Barton Hanson was fake.

Love Island's Wes and Megan announced their split last month, not long after Megan hit out at Wes' professional skating partner Vanessa Bauer.

However, Megan was seen in the audience of Dancing on Ice following their break-up, prompting speculation that they were still a couple.

Speaking to The Sun, Wes insisted that the speculation is "absolute baloney", explaining: "We've not been talking to get back together.

"People saying it's a fake break-up is absolute baloney. I wouldn't put myself through this stress. It makes absolutely no sense. It has not been a nice experience. It's been upsetting and the hardest thing I've ever done.

"We were a couple, that's all people saw us as. To then break up and be apart from the other person who you've had by your side to deal with these pressures and nasty things, isnt easy."

Wes also opened up about the pair's sex life, saying "it was second to none". He continued: "Do I miss the sex? Of course! But am I begging for it? No, I am quite happy training and just being sex-free for now."

Meanwhile, Wes said that his DoI partner Vanessa is "not [his] cup of tea" while discussing the romance rumours surrounding the duo.

He told OK! magazine: "People have said, 'Why don’t you get with Vanessa?'

"I see it in my comments all the time, but for one, has anyone ever asked me if I fancy her? No I don't. Vanessa is not my cup of tea."
