If you're a Justin Bieber fan – and let's face it, who isn't these days? – then we're afraid we have some bad news for you...
You're more likely to be a psychopath than someone who doesn't care for Bieber.
Yep, if you ever needed a reason to remain a closet Belieber, this is probably it. After all, who are we to argue with science?
Because it is science that's come up with this theory, after psychology professor Pascal Wallisch conducted a study into psychopathy at New York University.
To discover where there was a correlation between liking a certain music genre and being a bit of a psychopath, researchers gave students a questionnaire that asked them to answer questions like 'For me what's right is whatever I can get away with' and 'Love is overrated'.
Participants were then asked to listen to a load of songs, from classical to recent Billboard 100 songs, and rated them on a seven-point scale.
According to The Washington Post, the results showed that students who showed more traits of psychopathy liked tracks like Bieber's 'What Do You Mean?' and Eminem's 'Lose Yourself'.
Erm, please excuse us while we go and put our CD collection into storage.
Proving Professor Wallisch's point a little, Justin's pastor Carl Lentz recently confirmed (again) that he had nothing to do with the singer's cancellation of his 'Purpose World Tour'.
Denying any responsibility for Justin's decision, Carl argued: "Why would I want Beliebers mad at me?"
Yeah. We get it.
