A "lovely" Scottish castle hotel that looks perfect for a romantic getaway can currently be booked for half price.

The Tulloch Castle Hotel is a 12th-century castle set amidst the spectacular Scottish Highlands, near the town and royal burgh of Dingwall. The hotel retains much of its original charm, with the 250-year old panelled Great Hall being a particular highlight.

At the moment, an overnight stay for two at the Tulloch Castle Hotel can be booked for as little as £89 through voucher website Wowcher. This marks a 52 per cent discount off the standard price of £184.

Included in the Wowcher deal is a double bedroom with an en-suite, tea and coffee making facilities, and free Wi-Fi. You and your other half will also be treated to a full Scottish breakfast, as well as a late 12pm checkout.

Meanwhile, there is also an option to upgrade your stay to include a £50 food and drink voucher to use at the hotel's restaurant and bar. Highlights of the menu include salmon fillet with asparagus, crushed potatoes, and a lemon and dill sauce and haggis bon bons with a green peppercorn sauce.

Outside of the hotel, there is plenty to get up to with your companion. Dingwall is home to everything from charming shops and cafés to fascinating monuments and exhibitions, while Inverness — the 'cultural capital of the Highlands' — is just a short journey away.
