Lovercise: London's new fitness class where you can meet fellow singletons

Tired of only exercising your thumbs to find potential matches? Forget dating apps – if you’re single and ready to mingle, you can now swap your thumb workout for a full body one in the search for like-minded singletons.

LOVERCISE is the UK’s first fitness class designed specifically for singles. After its sell out Valentine’s Day launch, the class will return by popular demand to London this March.

With limited availability already, here’s everything you need to know about the cheeky workout

How it works

Attendees are given coloured wristbands upon arrival to indicate dating status. Daring red means you’re ready to love, while yellow is available for more timid singletons. Then comes a solid hour of sweat, with a workout that focuses on using your body weight to stimulate endorphins and set hearts a flutter. So all the bonuses of a usual fitness class, plus the added interest of checking out fellow class-goers.

Post workout comes the opportunity to get to know each other over aphrodisiac refreshments. Forget refuelling with a protein shake, LOVERCISE pushes the boat out with oysters, chai tea and red wine, while setting the romantic ambience with candles, roses and love songs.

Evidently, Londoners were intrigued by the launch of LOVERCISE, which offers a positive, welcome relief to the somewhat daunting, digitally-dominated dating scene. At only £10 per person, it also offers a great value fitness class.

Even if you don’t find ‘The One’ at this innovative fit fest, you’re guaranteed to feel the love. Exercise psychologist J. Kip Matthews, Ph.D, suggests that the endorphins produced by exercise help bring about feelings of euphoria in a similar way to ‘activities such as feeding, drinking and sexual activity’.
