Lower Precinct is set to become a hub for all things festive as Christmas edges closer. The Coventry shopping centre will offer unique weekly activities on Wednesdays and Saturdays from Wednesday, November 20, until Saturday, December 21.

Starting tomorrow (November 20), the Precinct will have two elves who will be spreading holiday cheer and handing out free hot drink coupons from Caffè Nero. Shoppers will be able to enjoy a complimentary hot chocolate or warm drink as they explore the festive offerings. The elves will also be in the precinct on Wednesday, November 27.

Late-night shopping is also set to commence on November 20, with shops until 8pm for visitors to buy gifts for loved ones. This will run until Wednesday, December 18, with the launch of The Festival of Christmas, with a trail of festive locations across the city from 4pm to 9pm on November 20.

Below is a full list of what's to come at the Lower Precinct:

1) Wednesday, December 4

Shoppers can capture a 'Selfie Elfie' to get their own festive selfies. There will be holiday-themed photo props, where shoppers are encouraged to share their photos on social media, tagging Lower Precinct for a chance to win a prize. The event aims to boost customer engagement and spread festive cheer across the community.

2) Wednesday, December 11

Coventry's rich heritage will be honoured by offering shoppers a taste of local delicacy God Cakes, prepared by a local bakery. Paired with non-alcoholic mulled wine, the treats are said to create a 'warm and welcoming' atmosphere for evening shoppers.

3) Wednesday, December 18

The last Wednesday event will include a 'Merry Money Grabber' game. Shoppers can step into a wind-filled booth and catch as many discount vouchers and store offers as possible in a limited time. Winners can redeem their prizes on-site (prizes depend on tenant participation).

Saturday 'festive fun' at Lower Precinct:

1) Saturday, November 30

An inflatable igloo will be at the heart of the shopping centre, hosting a 'Paint-a-Bauble' workshop for children, led by an elf, where kids can create their own Christmas tree ornaments to take home.

2) Saturday, December 7

Shoppers can enjoy a cinema experience in an igloo dome for the Alien Who Stole Christmas screening.

3) Saturday, December 14

Shoppers can show off their gaming skills in a Nintendo Wii Skiing competition. A leaderboard will track the top players, and the winner will be announced after the event and receive a prize.

4) Saturday, December 21

The final Saturday event will feature a Christmas VR roller coaster experience, perfect for a 'festive thrill'. All the proceeds from participation will be donated to Canley Food Hub, supporting the community this holiday season.
