The National Lottery offers a wide range of games with the experts choosing to look at the top four most popular.

UK Lotto is by far the most popular game in the UK under the National Lottery with between 15 and 45 million tickets sold for each draw on Wednesday and Saturday.

In this game, players select six numbers from a pool of 59 and if all of them match, the jackpot is won.

Since rule changes in 2015, when the pool size increased from 49 to 59, the luckiest number has been 52 with it being among the main numbers for the jackpot 100 times in the last seven years.

The second most frequent number is 58 (92 times) while the third is 39 (91 times).

The least common numbers are 48 and 9 while the luckiest Bonus Ball is 38.

Euro Millions

Introduced in 2004, the Euro Millions is a transnational game that can be won by players in nine different countries, including the UK.

There is a minimum guaranteed jackpot of €17 million which can be rolled over up to €240 million.

In this game, players select five numbers out of 50 and add two lucky stars from 12 possible stars.

Between 2016 and 2022, the most common numbers drawn were 20 and 21 (81 times), 17 (80 times) and 42 (78 times).

The unluckiest digits were 18, 22 and 40 while the most frequently drawn lucky stars were three and two with the least lucky of these stars being five and 10.
