Lucky escape for cat whose paws got frozen to the ground in icy Siberia
A cat that found itself frozen to the ground had a lucky escape after it was rescued by a kind-hearted couple.
The frozen feline was reportedly found by a couple in Zlatoust, Siberia, but its paws were stuck to the ground as temperatures plummeted to -35C.
It is thought the cat had crawled under a car to seek warmth from the freezing temperatures but his legs had become entombed in ice.
Luckily, he was found by a couple who set about rescuing it from its icy prison, the Siberian Times reported.
The couple, named as Sergey Baranov and wife Yelena, apparently poured seven buckets of warm water over all four of the shivering cat’s paws to melt the ice.

In a video showing the rescue, which has been viewed nearly 200,000 times, the couple battle to free the poor pussycat’s paws, struggling to get its back legs free.
After he was freed and wrapped in a blanket, the cat still didn’t move but the couple called a vet and later posted on social media that it was fine once its paws thawed out.
Sergey wrote: “”By the end of the day, the cat had started to walk.”
The cat, named Semyon, has since been picked up by a woman who has adopted it, he said.
