Jon Richardson has reportedly given a substantial sum of money to his ex-wife Lucy Beaumont following their split.

The comedic duo, who ended their nine-year marriage in April this year, left fans shocked with their divorce announcement. The pair had been entertaining audiences with their mockumentary series Meet The Richardsons for six years and recently had viewers in stitches with their stint on Celebrity Gogglebox.

It has now come to light that Jon has handed over a staggering £1.625 million to Hull-born Lucy. Over the course of their relationship, the couple had accumulated a wealth of £6m.

Just two months after they decided to end their marriage, Jon transferred the money to Lucy for her shares in a company where they were both registered as directors.

In addition to this, 41-year-old Jon also had to fork out an extra £8,125 in stamp duty to HMRC after purchasing Lucy's share in the company This Guy at Night Limited, reports the Mirror.

The couple were originally set up by fellow comedian After Life star Roisin Conaty and tied the knot in April 2015, welcoming a daughter a year later, although she has remained out of the limelight.

The split sparked speculation about the fate of their popular programme, Meet The Richardsons, broadcast on Dave. Since its launch in 2020, Jon and Lucy have portrayed "exaggerated versions of themselves", with the fifth series landing on UKTV Play on April 8, 2024.
