Ludwig: When episode 2 is out as new David Mitchell comedy series airs on BBC One

David Mitchell's new BBC comedy drama has finally aired on BBC One with viewers praising its charm and style. The new series follows David Mitchell's character John Taylor who is forced to visit his sister-in-law Lucy Betts-Taylor (Anna Maxwell Martin) in Cambridge.

He learns his twin brother, and also respected DCI, James Taylor has disappeared as Lucy explains a case he was working on before his vanishing act made him act differently.

Explaining he didn’t come home one night, she showed John a cryptic note her husband left giving her instructions to leave immediately with their son. Ludwig ends up accidentally stumbling upon a murder investigation and via the use of puzzles works out the killer.

Viewers online raved about the series online, with some commenting the new BBC series "definitely has a charm" and "very much enjoying this".

When is episode 2 out?

The second episode will air at 9pm on Wednesday, October 2 on BBC One. If you cannot wait until then, you can watch the full series on BBC iPlayer.

Each episode is around an hour long and will air weekly on BBC One at the same time. The final episode will be aired on Wednesday, October 30.

Where is Ludwig set?

Ludwig is set in Cambridge, with John 'Ludwig' Taylor posing as a detective in the fictional Cambridge Police Authority.

The series was filmed across the city in January around St John’s College, the Millpond and the River Cam. Crew members could also be seen wrapped up in blankets whilst on punts.

David Mitchell returns to the city where he studied history and performed in the famous Cambridge Footlights with his comedy partner Robert Webb.
