Marvel's Luke Cage never really got its day in court, but at least fans will be able to see Misty Knight doling out justice again soon!

Misty actress Simone Missick has just landed her first major TV role since Netflix made the very unpopular decision to cancel Luke Cage and all of its other Marvel shows.

Deadline reports that she's been cast in a leading role in the pilot for the star-studded CBS drama Courthouse, which – as you might have guessed – takes place within the confines of the justice system.

The series from writer Greg Spottiswood explores the inner-workings of the justice system through the perspectives of those working at all levels of a courthouse, from the bailiffs to the jurors to the judges.

Missick will be playing former deputy district attorney Lola as she ascends to the bench as a judge. In her prior job, she was impulsive and fiery – and she plans to be exactly the same in her new role.

The actress joins an impressive ensemble including The Flash's Jessica Camacho, Daredevil veteran Wilson Bethel and NCIS's Marg Helgenberger in her first major part since Under the Dome.

Missick's former Luke Cage co-star Mike Colter has also bounced back from the premature cancellation of the show by joining a paranormal drama from The Good Wife and The Good Fight creators Robert and Michelle King.

While Luke Cage and fellow Marvel shows The Punisher, Daredevil, Jessica Jones and Iron Fist have been dropped by Netflix, there is still hope of them finding new life eventually.

Marvel bosses have already promised "new adventures" for the characters, and there's even the chance that they might now finally graduate to the MCU movies.
