As we eagerly await season 2 of Luke Cage on Netflix, the man himself Mike Colter has given us some hints on what we can expect from the upcoming episodes.

Colter said filming is ongoing, explaining (via Black Film): "We're working on it right now. It will be sometime next year.

"We're not finished filming yet and after that, it's based on timing and when they want to drop it. It's like a record. 'When do you want to drop it?'

"Netflix has their own agenda and their own schedule, so I'll assume it's next year. How soon? I don't know, but hopefully the first quarter or first half."

Colter has also given more hints about the direction the show will be taking, with a new picture revealing Iron Fist (Finn Jones) will be making appearances in season 2.

"There are people that love the idea of Heroes for Hire," he said. "When people saw The Defenders, they thought the relationship was good between Finn and I and they are curious. They want to see more of that.

"He will bring some fresh blood in the new season and I'm hoping that people will respond to it well. We are teamed up for a bit. That's the whole point of bringing that flavour to it. I can see how this works.

"That's what good about it. We're giving people what they want. A lot of times people wanted to see Jessica Jones and Luke and what happens to them; but we went out on a limb, and decided, 'Let's give a little Heroes for Hire somewhere in the season and see what happens'. Hopefully people will respond to it."

Finn Jones, for his part, has downplayed the likelihood of a full-time reunion with Colter for a Heroes for Hire miniseries in the immediate future.

"First, I would love to see Heroes for Hire," he said back in July. "There's not been any talks about that so far – but working with Mike is brilliant.

Colter has remained tight-lipped on whether Luke Cage will be appearing in any other Marvel Netflix series, only commenting: "I cannot say."

Damn it! So revealing on everything else.

Netflix is set to premiere the second season of Luke Cage in 2018.
