Luke Combs refunded a concert on September 3, the second day of his tour, in Bangor, Maine, because he felt his voice wasn’t up to par.
Video recorded by Kelsey Pina shows the American country star apologize to the crowd and offer full refunds as he was struggling with a sore throat, but promised to put on a show for as long as he could.
Pina wrote in the original posting of the video: “Despite the defeat on his face and his sore throat, he and the boys put on a hell of a show for as long as he could.”
This wasn’t Combs’s first generous act since kicking off his Middle of Somewhere Tour; the previous night, the musician refunded two kids who stacked wood to earn the money to buy tickets.

- 7 PM today, a few hours ago, I realized that I was not gonna be able to sing as good as I wanted to do. I know you [INAUDIBLE], but what I decided to do is refund all of your tickets. And we're gonna play-- hold on a second. Hold on a second. I'm just gonna need your help. We're still gonna play the show.
- Are you serious?
- [INAUDIBLE] what I think it should be for you guys having to pay for it. So we're going to put on the best free show we can put on--
How upset I am to have to tell you that tonight. But all I want you to know is that we're gonna do the very [MUTED] damn best. I'm gonna give you everything that I have. I am so sorry.
