Actor-turned-singer Luke Evans has unveiled his latest single, the heartache-inspired track Changing.

The 40-year-old star is best known for his roles in films including The Hobbit, Beauty and the Beast, and Dracula Untold but next month, he’ll release his debut album.

Evans’ new song, Changing, was premiered on Zoe Ball’s Radio 2 show on Wednesday morning and he’s described it as “a powerful song about the challenges people face when in relationships that are perhaps not meant to be.”

He continued: “Sometimes we find ourselves willing to do anything to make a relationship work, and in the end, you find yourself very unhappy and broken down from all the energy you’ve put in to making it work.

“The main message of this song is just be yourself with the other person, and the love will eventually find its way.”

The track was recorded at the famous Sarm Studios in West London and Evans has worked with producer Steve Anderson, whose previous collaborators include Kylie Minogue and Pet Shop Boys.

While forging a hugely successful acting career Evans, from Wales, kept his vocal prowess under wraps until starring as Gaston in Disney’s live-action remake of Beauty and the Beast.

Alongside the album, titled At Last, he has another film, Midway, set for release later this year.

At Last is out on Friday, November 22.
