New luxury store to open in Liverpool ONE is first of its kind in Merseyside

Luxury watch company Breitling is opening its first Merseyside store in Liverpool ONE. Scheduled for early 2025, this flagship location will be a part of "the biggest year for openings" the shopping complex has seen.

The Swiss brand opened in 1884 and has since launched 27 boutiques around the UK. There are more than 250 stores worldwide.

Breitling is known for its industrial aesthetic and takes inspiration from motorbikes, pool tables and other typically masculine elements. The brand offers unisex watches, novelties, limited edition pieces and collector's items. Breitling will move into Liverpool ONE's Paradise Street, located between the BOSS fashion house and the former makeup unit Morphe.

Rob Deacon, Grosvenor’s asset management director at Liverpool ONE, said: "A new flagship boutique will be opening on Paradise Street in early 2025. You’ll be seeing a lot more vinyl going up over the next few months as the scheme's tenant mix continues to evolve and elevate.

"2025 will be the biggest year for openings since the scheme opened in 2008, with the strongest line up of new brands anywhere in the UK. Watch this space."

In August, Morphe boarded up and closed its Liverpool ONE branch. It came after a number of former employees took to social media, including X and TikTok, to share that staff across the UK had been made redundant and that branches were closing imminently.

A spokesperson for Morphe told the ECHO: "Given the difficult UK retail trading environment and disproportionately high rents, we made the difficult decision to close our eight owned Morphe stores in the UK and Amsterdam."

Liverpool ONE has recently undergone drastic changes which included saying farewell to long-standing brands and the refurbishment of others. Zara has doubled in size to accommodate new facilities and technologies, jumping from its previous 27,000 sq ft unit to 42,000 sq ft.

Liverpool ONE also welcomed back alternative fashion brand All Saints and launched the interactive darts venue Flight Club. They can be found on Peter's Lane and Chavasse Park respectively.

On Saturday, September 28, technical outdoor and sportswear brand Montirex is to open its first physical store on South John Street. The 3,000 square feet store will be open for a few months and stock Montirex men’s, women’s, juniors and infants fit for this autumn

To celebrate the launch, founders Danny Yuen and Kieran Riddell-Austin will be joined by brand ambassador, UFC Welterweight #1 Contender, Leon “Rocky” Edwards for the opening ceremony. There will also be a give-away for the first 50 customers which includes a goodie bag full of Montirex gear.
