Lyn Valley Classic hits the ten-year mark

The Lyn Valley is set to captivate car enthusiasts and charity supporters alike as it returns to Lynton & Lynmouth.

Since the event’s humble beginnings in 2014 with just 12 cars on the manor green, the organisers anticipate a record-breaking number of visitors in its tenth anniversary year gathering to witness over 400 classic cars, motorcycles, supercars, and vintage tractors at the largest charity fundraising event in the twin towns.

This year, the event on Sunday, June 9 is honoured to welcome special guests Jodie Kidd - renowned supermodel, racing driver, and car enthusiast known for her appearances on Top Gear and The Classic Car Show alongside top British fashion designer Alice Temperley MBE. With breathtaking riverside and seaviews over Lynmouth Bay both will be visiting and staying with the event’s main sponsor, Tors Park.

Charity champion and cancer survivor, Louise Butcher, who is known as the ‘Topless Runner’ off the back of her campaigning to promote body positivity and raise awareness of breast cancer and body positivity will be joining the event.

A spokesperson for the classic, sports and cherished car show said: “Over the past decade, the Lyn Valley Classic has flourished and grown exponentially, raising over £60,000 for various charities and community groups. Success which would not have been possible without the generous support of sponsors such as Tors Park, Tuckers Legal and Financial Services, The Lynton & Lynmouth Cliff Railway, Barbrook Filling Station and The Esplanade Fish Bar. Their contributions, along with many others, cover most of the event’s expenses, enabling us to continue making a positive impact in our community."

The annual event is organised and managed by a team of volunteers from the community, ensuring the smooth operation of the day and the successful fundraising efforts.

Proceeds from the event are allocated to designated charitable beneficiaries, including the Devon and Somerset Air Ambulances, the North Devon Hospice, and South West Blood Bikes, Chemo Hero, Support Dogs for Veterans, RNLI Ilfracombe, North Devon Against Domestic Abuse, The Fern Centre and Tarka Radio among others.

Tors Park will be providing their guests with picnic hampers filled with local and seasonal produce to enjoy during the event.
