Lyon are close to completing a "very ambitious" move for Chelsea youngster Bertrand Traore, according to club president Jean-Michel Aulas.

As reported by Standard Sport on Monday, a £16.6million fee has been agreed between Lyon and the Premier League champions are discussions last week.

Traore, who scored 13 goals while on loan at Ajax last season, is keen for further first-team football and is expected to finalise a move over the next few days.

"We're fine-tuning the talks," Aulas told reporters whilst attending Elysee Palace, the residence of French President Emmanuel Macron.

"It's a very ambitious operation, one that fits with what we had said. I hope to be able to conclude the deal in the next 10 days, if possible before the end of the week."

Chelsea are also set to have their transfer funs boosted to the tune of nearly £3m thanks to a sell-on clause in Mohamed Salah's sale to Roma. The Eygptian is set to become Liverpool's record signing.
