I’m A Celeb star Marvin Odoom is brother of Coronation Street actress who played two characters
I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here 2024 is finally here tonight (Sunday, November 17) on ITV at 9pm and its time to get to know the contestants. Radio and TV presenter Melvin Odoom, 44, has been selected for this year's show and he comes from an interesting family.
His sister Yonah Odoom is an actress and has appeared in some classic British soaps like Coronation Street, Hollyoaks and The Windsors. In fact, she's appeared on Coronation Street as two separate characters, a rare claim to fame.
But first, a bit about Melvin himself and how he got to where he is. He has had a stellar career starting in 2002 - 2009 when he was involved in presenting Dick & Dom in da Bungalow. But he is perhaps best known for his work on the radio.

Radio and Rickie Haywood-Williams
Melvin's most famous work is probably his work on Kiss 100 radio breakfast show from 2007-2018 which he hosted alongside Rickie Haywood-Williams. He received the Sony Radio Award for his work here.
The pair met each other while studying media at the University of Bedfordshire in Luton between 1998 and 2001. They used to host the university's radio station Luton FM, which is now known as Radio Lab.
Their big break was when they were signed onto Kiss Breakfast together in 2007 and later joined by Charlie Hedges in 2009. The trio then moved over to BBC Radio 1 in April 2019 to present the late night show from Monday to Thursday 9pm - 11pm.
On TV, Melvin has also been involved in presenting Basil's Swap Shop (2008), the BRIT Awards 2010 and Must Be the Music (2010), The Xtra Factor (2015), Bang on the Money (2016) and the MOBO Awards 2016 as well as a regular celebrity guest on other shows.
Yonah Odoom - sister in stardom
Fame is not just centred around Melvin in the family however as his sister Yonah Odoom has also been on TV as an actress. She played two different characters in soap classic Coronation Street, a rare acolade to have.
First, she was Mrs Piper, the mother of troublesome teen Grace Piper in November 2013. She then returned to the programme in June 2018 as a makeup artist at Television Centre in London when Rosie Webster, Craig Tinker and Gemma Winter appeared on This Morning in the show.
Yonah has also appeared in Hollyoaks as a vicar in November 2014. She has also appeared in The Slammer, Echoes, Breach and Hollyoaks. On the stage, she has had parts in Back to the 80s, The Winterling, Allen Heart, Handa's Hen and Teddy Bear's Picnic.
