Getting crabby: Iain Lee in the latest Bushtucker Trial: ITV

Iain Lee and Jennie McAlpine got dangerously close to toads, creepy crawlies and mud crabs during the Deadly Departure Lounge Bushtucker Trial on I’m A Celebrity.

In scenes to be aired in Thursday’s show, the campmates are seen undertaking the latest timed challenge.

Lee and McAlpine had to put their heads into a series of boxes, using only their tongue to unscrew and retrieve a plastic dollar. Animals hopped, wiggled and clawed around, making the task a difficult one to complete.

As Lee took on the box with toads, he asked, “Are these the ones that are psychedelic if you lick them?”

Hosts Ant and Dec chipped in, “No, I’m afraid not. Just concentrate on the dollar. Don’t go licking the toads.”

McAlpine kept her stoicism, getting on with the task at hand, moving from the creepy crawly box to the toad box with ease.

“Toad in the hole!”, she exclaimed.

Lee moved on to the box filled with mud crabs, which gave him trouble. “Get out the bloody way!”, he yelled at the crabs as they obstructed the plastic dollar. “I can’t get near it.”

The rest of the task can be viewed in tonight’s episode, where we will see whether Lee escapes the clutches of the crabs.

I’m A Celebrity continues Thursday, December 7 at 9pm on ITV.
