ITV’s I’m a Celebrity Extra Camp host Joel Dommett was forced to miss last night’s show after a wooden sign fell on top of him and split his head open.

The presenter, 32, was left needing seven stitches in hospital after the accident during windy weather at rehearsals.

Co-hosts Scarlett Moffatt and Joe Swash presented the show without him.

Dommett was rushed to hospital where he shared an Instagram post of the doctor tending to his head as he grimaced.

He said: “Unfortunately due to unforeseen windy circumstances blowing the set onto my head during rehearsals, I won’t be able to present Extra Camp this evening.

"I had seven stitches like a big brave boy and I’ll be back tomorrow.

"To be honest I’m less worried about my health and more worried that the show will be better without me.

"Half a day off school to go home and watch neighbours! Woo!”

Dommett finished second in the 2016 series of I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here with his now Extra Camp co-host Moffatt coming in first place.
