Following hot on the heels of Morrisons supermarket announcing last week that it would be launching a food box service, filled with essential food items, for people unable to get delivery slots, Marks & Spencer is now following suit.

It's been near impossible for many people up and down the country to get the vital groceries they need, due to limited supermarket stocks and a total lack of online delivery slots; a big problem for more vulnerable people who are being advised to stay away from supermarkets.

Luckily, M&S have now announced that they too will be providing a food box delivery service, costing just £35, the box will include food cupboard staples such as rice and pasta, tea and coffee, various sauces and baked beans, fresh items like soups, curry, salmon and steak and a few vital treat items including dark chocolate, peanuts and a customer favourite packet of Percy Pigs. Although the items may be substituted on occasion, subject to availability.

‘In the event of supply difficulties, we reserve the right to include slightly different products in the M&S Food box – these alternative goods will be of equal quality and value,’ according to the M&S website.

The food box, which will cost an additional £3.99 delivery charge and be limited to box per person, also contains a highly-coveted and hard to come by pack of toilet roll; a feature that will no doubt provide the stamp of approval for many shoppers.
