We've got our first look at M Night Shyamalan's new movie Old that has teased the chilling thriller's concept.
Based on the graphic novel Sandcastle by Pierre Oscar Lévy and Frederik Peeters, Old centres on a family on a tropical holiday who soon discover that the secluded beach they discovered causes them to age rapidly, reducing their entire lives into a single day.
The brief first look, released last night (February 7) as part of the Super Bowl, shows the horrifying consequences of this beach as Vicky Krieps' character discovers what's happened to her son: "He was six years old this morning..."
The movie is currently set to be released in July in cinemas and it shot in September last year, with Shyamalan marking the occasion by saying that it "feels like a miracle that I am standing here shooting the first shot of my new film".
It follows the second season of Servant which is currently airing on Apple TV+ and Shyamalan spoke to us about the twists to expect in his TV show and whether it leans more into supernatural territory.
"I think it's going to move progressively more into genre. That was the dream and the movement as I see the show. It's ticking, ticking – but more and more into genre as we go through the seasons," he said.
"I think like my movies, you want to believe in the supernatural, but you also want to believe that the world is relatable enough, that it feels like you're in my house or apartment."
Old is currently set for release in July, while Servant is now available to stream on Apple TV+.
