By now you're likely well aware that, along with social distancing, the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) has recommended that Americans wear cloth face masks when out in public to help prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus...and you probably own several at this point. But if you have had a hard time finding masks you love—ones that are comfortable, look nice, and most importantly, fit well—then I'm here to help, or at least, to rave about my favorite pick: A set of two-ply cotton face masks from Nordstrom.

I've tried homemade masks from friends and masks from several other brands, but until I ordered my set a few weeks ago, I had yet to try ones that were comfortable to wear, didn't make my ears hurt, and actually stayed put on my face. Add in my quest to invest in masks that were a little more stylish, and it felt all but impossible. I was originally drawn to these Nordstrom masks because they were adjustable. They came up when I was searching for face masks that tied behind the neck (a style I hadn't tried yet) and when I saw all the fun patterns and colors available and the budget-friendly price tag (they're $25 for a pack of four!), I was hooked.

These masks have adjustable ear loops, so you can get them to fit just right on your face without putting too much pressure on your ears. Essentially, instead of an elastic loop, these masks have more of a drawstring that forms ear loops and ties together at the back of your neck, so you can tie them as loosely or as tightly as you need to make them fit right and feel good. With this feature, I've found that these masks fit the best of any of the other options I've tried.

On top of that, they're made with cotton jersey that's super soft without being too hot, so they're all around the most comfortable face masks I've worn all year. They're two-ply and have a pocket for inserting a filter as a third layer, which makes them even better. After wearing one for the first time to go grocery shopping, I wound up ordering another set in different colors, and they've become my go-to masks ever since.

You can shop some of my favorite patterns below, or head to nordstrom.com to shop their full face mask selection, because there are plenty more where these come from—including options for kids.
