IPL: Kings XI Punjab co-owner Preity Zinta in favour of open auction in 2018

Kings XI Punjab co-owner Preity Zinta has said that she would welcome the idea of an open auction in the Indian Premier League (IPL) for next year. The current auction system in the Twenty20 competition is such that IPL franchises can retain a maximum of five players with a "first right of refusal" for a sixth player. "It was meant to be an open auction without retention," Zinta said, as quoted on CricBuzz.
