The M25, A3 and M3 road closures near Heathrow, Guildford and Reigate drivers will want to avoid this week

This week in Surrey drivers will need to take care while travelling on the M25, A3 and M3. Closures will be scheduled overnight which might make journeys longer.

National Highways has ongoing works on several major carriageways, to make routes safer for drivers. This could include drainage work, resurfacing or street lighting maintenance.

Busy areas in particular like on the M25 and the M23 are some of the most used highways cutting through Surrey. A big draw for these Surrey routes are to get to the airports north and south of the county, Gatwick in Sussex and Heathrow.

Some nights this week, spur roads and link roads will be shut near Heathrow, meaning those planning on travelling on the M4 will need to take alternative routes. Near Gatwick, carriageway closures could mean diversions.

Elsewhere in Surrey, sections of the M3 will be shut, meaning drivers should use local routes. There will also be closures in and around Guildford which drivers will need to be wary of.

Tuesday, November 12

M3 closures

  • M3 westbound carriageway and entry slip road closure between junction 1 and 2 (Sunbury and Staines). Closure in place from 10pm until 5.30am the following morning

  • M3 northbound closure between junction 4 (Frimley) and 3 (Bagshot/Lightwater). Closure in place from 9pm until 6am the following morning

A3 closures

  • A3 northbound closure between Compton and Guildford University. Closure in place from 9pm until 6am the following morning

Wednesday, November 13

M25 roadworks

  • M25 anti-clockwise junction 8 (Reigate) exit slip road closure. Closure in place from 10pm until 5am the following morning. There will also be lane closures between junction 9 and junction 8 during the works.

  • M25 will be closed clockwise between junction 13 for Staines/M3 and junction 14 for Heathrow from 10pm until 5am the following morning.

M3 closure

  • M3 northbound closure between junction 4 (Frimley) and 3 (Bagshot/Lightwater). Closure in place from 9pm until 6am the following morning

Thursday, November 14

M25 closures

  • M25 anti-clockwise junction 8 (Reigate) entry slip road closure. Closure in place from 10pm until 5am the following morning for maintenance work

  • M25 clockwise and anti-clockwise closure of the junction 15 link road to the M4 eastbound (junction 4B.) Closure in place from 10pm until 5.30am the following morning

  • M25 anti-clockwise closure westbound on the Terminal 5 Spur road. Closure in place from 10pm until 5.30am the following morning

A3 closures

  • A3 northbound Burpham entry slip road closed. Closure in place from 9pm until 6am the following morning

  • A3 northbound closure from Guildford University to Stoke interchange. Closure in place from 9pm until 6am the following morning

Friday, November 15

M25 closures

  • M25 clockwise and anti-clockwise closure of the junction 15 link road to the M4 eastbound (junction 4B.) Closure in place from 11pm until 6am the following morning

  • M25 anti-clockwise closure westbound on the Terminal 5 Spur road. Closure in place from 11pm until 6am the following morning

  • M25 anti-clockwise junction 7 (Croydon/M23) link road closure to the M23 northbound and southbound (junction 8). Closure in place from 11pm until 5am the following morning

A3 closure

  • A3 northbound Stoke entry slip road closure. The closure will be in place from 9pm until 5am the following morning for barrier repairs

Saturday, November 16

A3 closure

  • A3 southbound Thursley entry slip road closure. Closure in place from 9pm until 6am the following morning

Sunday, November 17 - no planned closures

Monday, November 18

M25 closure

  • M25 anti-clockwise junction 8 (Reigate) entry slip road closure. Closure in place from 10pm until 5.30am the following morning.

A3 roadworks

  • A3 northbound closure at the Hindhead Tunnel entry slip road. Closure in place from 9pm until 6am the following morning

  • A3 northbound closure between Compton and Guildford University exit. Closure in place from 9pm until 6am the following morning

  • A3 westbound and eastbound carriageway closure between Hook Rise and Esher Common junction. Closure in place from 10pm until 5am the following morning
