M25 Dartford Crossing closures this week confirmed including full bridge closure
The exact date that a key part of the Dartford Crossing will once again fully close has now been set. Road users have been advised that the QEII Bridge will see a full overnight closure on Saturday, December 7.
On this night, the bridge will shut from 9pm until 6am on Sunday, December 8. During this time, drivers will need to follow a diversion route in order to complete journeys along the M25 between Essex and Kent.
All southbound traffic will be diverted via the east tunnel of the Dartford Crossing. For northbound traffic, vehicles under 4.8m (15‘-9”) in height will be able to use the west tunnel as usual on this night.

However, for vehicles between 4.8m (15‘-9”) and 5.0m (16’-6”) high, an alternative diversion will be in place via the M25 clockwise. This is not the only scheduled closure at the crossing over the coming weeks, as the west tunnel will once again shut on weeknights throughout the end of November and start of December.
National Highways is completing steelwork inspections and repairs within the tunnel, which will require closures in order to be completed safely. While the westbound tunnel is closed, all northbound traffic will be diverted through the east tunnel.
