M25 Dartford Crossing drivers face 90-minute delays after air ambulance called to serious crash

There are severe delays on the M25 in both directions near the Dartford Crossing following a serious collision involving a motorbike. The collision has closed the motorway south-bound within junction 1b for the Princes Road Interchange at Dartford.

The north-bound carriageway was also closed for some time, but it has since re-opened. All emergency services including an air ambulance have been called to the scene.

National Highways traffic officers are also in attendance providing assistance with traffic management. The road is expected to remain closed "throughout the afternoon", according to National Highways.

This will allow for "collision investigation works" to take place. At around 4.15pm, a spokesperson added: "There is approximately an hour-and-a-half delay on the M25 clockwise approaching the crossing and 45 minutes on the anti-clockwise."

Kent Police has told motorists to "plan their journeys accordingly". A police spokesperson said: "Kent Police were called to a serious collision involving a motorcycle on the clockwise carriageway of the A282, near Dartford.

"Officers and the South East Coast Ambulance Service are at the scene. The air ambulance is also in attendance and motorists should plan their journeys accordingly."
