The M4 was closed after a multi-car pile-up left a car wrecked and on its side.
Police were called to the crash which occurred some time before 10.30pm on Satursay night and the westbound carriageway was subsequently closed between junctions 14 and 15 for Hungerford and Swindon.
Wiltshire Police's Roads Policing Unit attended the scene near Membury Services to help National Highways South West and a diversion was put in place.
The Wiltshire Specialist Ops Twitter account, which covers the Roads Policing Unit, posted a picture taken at the scene of one of the vehicles involved.
The windscreen and rear window were smashed, glass is littering the road surface and the the car's contents are spilling out.
Along with the picture, the account provided an update on what had happened, revealing that as of 12.03am on Sunday morning the M4 had been fully reopened.
A spokesperson from Wiltshire Police confirmed no one was hurt in the smash.
"Ambulance and fire were also in attendance; however, occupants of both vehicles are believed to have not been injured," the said.
"During recovery of the cars, the motorway was reduced to one lane only but fully reopened at 1am."
