M56 queues after vehicle goes up in flames
Traffic is building on the M56 after a car burst into flames. Queues began to form when the blaze began around 4pm on Saturday, September 28, between junction eight and junction nine at the M6 interchange heading westbound.
Traffic monitor Inrix said: "One lane closed and queueing traffic due to vehicle fire on M56 Westbound from J7 (Bowdon) to J20 (Lymm Interchange). Motorway Cameras also wrote online that it expects the hard shoulder and lane to be reopened by 5pm and 5.15pm. It is also expected for traffic to return to normal and delays to clear by 5.45pm.
