M6 northbound Lancashire shut as 'serious' bus crash sees two airlifted to hospital

Two people have suffered serious injuries after a crash on the M6 involving a bus and car. Emergency services were called to junction 37 (A684) of the M6 at 11.50am today (September 19) following the collision involving a Hyundai i10 car and a Stagecoach bus.

The driver and passenger of the car were airlifted to hospital with serious injuries. The driver of the bus was uninjured.

The northbound exit road is currently closed whilst a forensic collision investigation is carried out. Anyone with any information is asked to contact PC1470 Davies or Sgt1929 Bainbridge of operational support.
