M6 tragedy as woman dies after car collides with bus at junction
A second woman has died following a crash involving a car and a bus at an M6 junction.
Emergency services were called to reports of a serious collision involving a Hyundai and a bus on Thursday, September 19. The incident happened on the A684 at Junction 37 for the motorway near Kendal in Cumbria.
LancsLive reported yesterday how the Hyundai driver, Rita Thomas, 85, of Thornton-Cleveleys, died in hospital on Friday. In an update issued today (September 23), Cumbria Police confirmed passenger Christine Dale, 77, also of Thornton-Cleveleys, died in hospital on Sunday.

The driver of the bus was uninjured. Officers are continuing to appeal for witnesses and anyone with information.
In a statement, a force spokesperson said: "The passenger of a car involved in a collision on the A684 at Junction 37 on Thursday 19 September has died. Christine Dale, 77, of Thornton-Cleveleys, was a passenger in the Hyundai involved in a collision with a bus.
"She died in hospital on Sunday 22 September. The driver of the Hyundai, Rita Thomas, 85, of Thornton-Cleveleys, also died in hospital following the collision on Friday 20 September.
"The driver of the bus was uninjured. Police continue to appeal for anyone with information to contact officers.
