M62 traffic chaos after ice on motorway causes crash
There is traffic chaos surrounding the M62 this morning. North West Motorway Police and Merseyside Police were called to the eastbound carriageway of the motorway following a crash between junction 4 (The Rocket) to junction 5 A5080 Roby Road (Huyton) just before 8am on Friday, November 22.
Traffic was held for a period of time and it still remains blocked, according to traffic management system Inrix. Officers confirmed on X that there was ice between this junction and lanes were reduced following the crash.
Pictures of the scene showed several police cars on the carriageway and what appears to be ice. Drivers were diverted away and congestion travelled all the way to Court Hey Park.
