Macaulay Culkin has marked turning 40 years old in the best possible way.
Yes, it's hard to believe that the Home Alone star is really that age – and it seems he's a step ahead of us all in anticipating all the disbelief on social media.
Taking to Twitter on his birthday yesterday (August 26), Culkin wrote: "Hey guys, wanna feel old? I'm 40. You're welcome."
He further joked: "It's my gift to the world: I make people feel old. I'm no longer a kid, that's my job."
Of course, Culkin is known for being pretty hilarious on social media, and last year responded to plans to remake Home Alone with a brilliantly unflattering photo of himself.
"This is what an updated Home Alone would actually look like," he joked.
Meanwhile, the star is due to appear in season 10 of American Horror Story, and was actually convinced to sign on thanks to a "crazy, erotic sex" scene between his character and Kathy Bates – according to boss Ryan Murphy.
"I have always loved Macaulay Culkin's work," Murphy explained. "I loved everything that he's done, I love the stuff he did in Home Alone, I also loved the sort of the older, more recent stuff that he did. And he hasn't worked in a while."
"So, I have this very, very great insane part. And I asked to speak to him on the phone and he said OK. [When] I cast, I never let people read things, usually.
"I said, 'OK, here's the pitch'. And I told them the character and I told him he has crazy, erotic sex with Kathy Bates and does other things. And he paused and he goes, 'This sounds like the role I was born to play.' So, he signed up right then and there."
