Irvine's Marymass Queen and Marys were the special guests as a local care home raised funds for Macmillan Cancer Support.

Residents at Cumbrae Lodge Care Home held a community coffee morning and were able to raise £100 for the charity - and they were delighted to meet the Marymass Queen and her Marys, who joined guests for a morning of fundraising fun over a cuppa and a selection of delicious cakes.

Local singer, Charlie Gorman, serenaded guests and had everyone joining in with a singalong as he played his guitar.

In the week leading up to the big day, the home’s chefs helped residents perfect their cakes and bakes and residents also made decorations in their arts and crafts activities.

The home’s Magic Moments Coordinator, Lynette Cushnaghan, said: “We’re all very keen to help raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support as it is a cause close to many of our hearts. Our residents love getting involved with their local community and had a wonderful time meeting new friends.”
