Macron Surveys 'Devastated' Irpin on Ukraine Trip

Video posted to French President Emmanuel Macron’s Twitter account on June 16 showed what he called the “devastated” town of Irpin, which he visited along with other European leaders that day.

Macron met Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky along with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, Italian Prime Minister Mario Draghi, and Romanian President Klaus Iohannis.

Macron said he saw “heroism, too” in how Ukrainians had stopped the Russian army as it approached Kyiv. He added, “Ukraine resists. It must be able to win.” Credit: Emmanuel Macron via Storyful
