Are you watching your waistline but still hankering for a slice of pizza? With one recipe, you can still enjoy your favourite treat while sticking to your health goals.

TikTok user @thezachrocheleau has come up with a pizza recipe that's both surprising and satisfying, especially after he was challenged to improve upon the much-talked-about cottage cheese flatbread, which he initially rated a measly "2/10".

This "homemade pizza" packs a staggering 56g of protein and totals just 640 calories, but it's a full 12-inch pie perfect for sharing on a cosy date nights at home, with friends at dinner, or simply by yourself snuggled up on the sofa during movie night.

To whip up this delicious meal, start with the dough made from an unexpected ingredient: 150g of 2% cottage cheese mixed with 75g of egg white, blended until smooth.

Next, "take a big bowl", toss in 70g of self-raising flour, 12g of coconut flour, 5g of nutritional yeast, and a generous helping of garlic powder don't be "shy" with it. Then, "mix to avoid clumping."

Combine the creamy cottage cheese and egg blend with the dry mix and "mix until a wet dough" forms.

Spread the dough onto parchment paper on a baking tray, shaping it from the centre outwards to create a pizza base that's "at least 12 inches" in diameter.

Finally, bake it in the oven preheated to 220 degrees for 8-10 minutes, or "until golden."

Next, you'll need to delicately remove it from the parchment paper and spread 90g of pizza sauce onto the base. Follow this with 56g of part-skim mozzarella, a spritz of olive oil on the crust, and a sprinkle of garlic powder again for good measure.

Then return it to the oven until the toppings turn a "golden" hue. All that's left to do is enjoy!
