Madeleine McCann has been missing for 10-years after she disappeared from the Portuguese town of Praia de Luz on May 3, 2007.
Her parents, Kate and Gerry McCann have vowed to do “whatever it takes for as long as it takes” to find her.
Tragically, little concrete evidence has come to light in the intervening years to help find Madeleine, who was three years old at the time, despite police forces from two countries working to track her down and a media frenzy surrounding the case.
New BBC Panorama documentary Madeleine McCann: 10 Years On takes a look back over the disappearance in an attempt to find out what really happened.
Here’s everything you need to know about the show:
What’s it about?
The programme will re-examine evidence gathered over a decade of police investigation, focusing on the “contradictory conclusions” reached by the British and Portuguese teams.
Panorama’s Richard Bilton will also return to Portugal to interview officers involved in the investigation, including the Deputy Head of the Policia Judiciaria, as well as some of the men questioned by the police.
Who’s presenting it?
The programme follows journalist Bilton, who has reported on the case for the BBC since the first days of Madeleine’s disappearance. He has covered other high profile crimes for the broadcaster including the Shannon Matthews case and the Soham murders.
When is it on?
Madeleine McCann: 10 Years On will air on BBC One tonight at 9pm .
