Mads Hermansen points out Leicester City problem as he makes 'simply too much' admission
Mads Hermansen was in no mood to revel in his exceptional goalkeeping performance at Arsenal, insisting Leicester City cannot afford for him to be so busy if they are to be successful this season.
Hermansen made 13 saves in Saturday’s last-gasp 4-2 defeat at the Emirates Stadium, one shy of the Premier League record set by David De Gea in 2017. The Dane made a string of world-class stops at 2-2 and had looked like earning City a point until their hearts were broken by the Gunners' two added-time goals.
Those heroics are not something Hermansen wants to repeat every week. City conceded 36 shots in total, and that cannot continue if they are to climb the table.

“I’m disappointed first of all,” Hermansen told the club at the full-time whistle. “It was a tough game of course. They’re a great team with fantastic players, and they played well. It was not easy.
“I must admit, it was a bit too much today. We conceded 36 shots on goal. No matter who you play, that’s simply too much. We have to look at what we can improve and try to do it better for the future.
“I think when I lay in bed tonight, I will think I played a great game. But it’s tough right now, being so close to a point on a difficult pitch. It’s a shame, but in general I can take a lot personally from this game, and we can take something as a team as well.”
The positives to carry forward include the second-half fightback, a theme from this season, and, despite the nature of Arsenal’s third goal, their set-piece defending. The Gunners have enjoyed great success from corners over the past couple of seasons and they had 17 against City, who were able to see out the danger for 16 of them.
“What we can take on again is that we came back from two goals down and almost got a point,” Hermansen added. “We scored from a set-piece as well and had some good moments. We defended well in general even though we conceded four. We defended their set-pieces well.”
