Married at First Sight Australia star Melissa Rawson has broken down in tears during an emotional video from the early stages of her parenthood.

The star appeared in the eighth season of the reality show back in 2021, coupling up with Bryce Ruthven during the experiment. The partnership proved to be a successful one, with the duo welcoming twins, Levi and Tate, after the conclusion of the show.

Three years on from her appearance on the show, Melissa took to Instagram to share a video from the past year as she dropped her sons at daycare, with the star becoming emotional as she recalled how Levi had called for her as she left.

The video, which was recorded in Melbourne last year, served as inspiration for Melissa to write a heartfelt message, with the star reflecting on the experience as she took the twins to their new daycare following the family’s move to the Gold Coast.

“This video was recorded over a year ago when the twins attended their first week of childcare in Melbourne,” she wrote in the caption. “Now living on the Gold Coast, the twins started at a new childcare centre this week.

“Today is their second day. And I feel the same way right now as I did last year. Except now that the twins are older, they’re more self-aware that I’m gone and don’t know when or even if mummy is coming back.

“It will get easier of course, but it pulls at the mummy heartstrings. In saying that, I’m lucky to be able to have all of this in the first place,” she concluded, with several followers supporting her in the comments section.

“My daughter is 20 years old and I still remember her cries and screams of being left at daycare. It does get better,” wrote one follower, with another adding that they remembered the “gut-wrenching feeling”.
